“Welcome to the Quickie Mart” on a Funtalking pen,
you know it’s him. That’s because our Space Age audio
technology gives sound quality like nothing you’ve ever heard.

that’s not all – our pens and other talking products
feature your favorite movie and TV characters, thermal transfer
photos which never peel off, and a cool shape you won’t find
anywhere else. Plus the pen is a superb writing instrument!
Now, for July 4th, we’re giving our loyal customers something
else that no one else has, either – a 25% discount on anything
at our site – enter this discount code on the checkout screen
where you choose your shipping method, and click on "take

But like
a donut in the vicinity of Homer Simpson, this offer could disappear at
any moment.

$25,000 Spongebob? That’s what the earlier works of artist Bob White, creator of the cartoon character Spongebob Squarepants, are going for. The likes of Meryl Streep, Michael Douglas and Cindy Crawford are among his (paying) fans.
Coca Cola and Itunes will be giving away a couple of billion music tracks this summer to promote Apple and Coke. Running in August, it’s the largest music promo ever.
G.I. Joes for Jesus from the creator of G.I. Joe, a new line of Old Testament action figures this fall. Figures for boys will include Noah, Samson, and David; for girls, Queen Esther and Deborah the Warrior. More info.

New toys run on brain
power The California
company NeuroSky will debut toys that run on brain waves. Put a
sensor cap on and think your way through the maze, turn on your
laser sword, fire your gun. It will be shown first in Japan this
summer and in the US in the fall. Click for
details
This summer’s “must have”
gadget
My choice: the BlueQ Wristband. You
don’t have to have your phone ringer turned on at meals, in the
movies, or in meetings. In fact, leave your cell phone in your
purse. The world’s first Bluetooth-enabled wrist band vibrates when
someone calls. And the look is customizable with provided “Qskins.”
Swami Kamhi gazes into his crystal ball and sees the future: Kids
and adults will go nuts for this. It’s expected to retail for about
$40. Click for more info
Beer for kids??
In Japan, drinking together with coworkers has become part of the culture, and what better way to practice being an adult than with non-alcoholic drinks that are packaged like the real thing? The fake beer even gives you a head of foam. It's sold in six-packs (maybe the kids drink it while watching American football), bottles, and cans. When I was a kid I could buy candy cigarettes, but they have long since disappeared. Imitating adults’ bad habits isn’t a good idea at any age, so I don’t think you’ll see this kind of beer here.

The
Incredible Hulk
The Hulk morfs into… Edward Norton!? I
could hardly believe it myself. The lead in the sequel to the Hulk
was originally promised to Eric Bana, but he apparently beat out
Brad Pitt, the rumored lead in The Time Traveler’s Wife,
and took that part instead. Let’s hope Eric doesn’t turn green…
with envy, now that he’s no longer slated to be the Big Guy.
Ride with Bart!
The first Simpsons’ Theme Park rides will
be opening in Orlando and Hollywood next spring. Since the program
is in its 18th season, many of you who watched the first few seasons
may be too old for these rides. Or not. Series creator Matt Groening
said in a statement that the rides “duplicate the ‘Simpsons’
home-viewing experience, only at high speed and with lots of
screaming.” If that sounds like you, the rides are about ten months
away. |

We had a lot of delighted winners of the free Shrek 3 tickets we gave away. You can
see a list here. A few of the comments we got back from the lucky ones:
Peter Kuzel,
Atlanta, GA. Gillian Coombs, Chicago, IL: “I took my
son tonight and left my husband at home. We had a great
night! Thanks again.” Wes Stott, Orlando, FL: “I just wanted to write you a quick
note to say how much we enjoyed Shrek 3 in Orlando last night. The
family showed up, all dressed in green, and had a great time.
I thank you so, so much.”
Jeff Elliott, Los Angeles: “Thank you for the tickets. My
son and I had a ‘boys night on the town’ and had Sushi (my 6 year
old is a Sushi HOUND!) and saw the movie. We got in (though just
barely - they turned some people away). Movie was very fun, and we
had a great time.”
That's it until the next time....
